    SUMMARY :


    The goal of a Safety Coach is to collaborate with employees on the manufacturing floor to help create and sustain a world class safety culture by establishing a culture of "Working to the Standard Safely".

    It is also a goal of the safety coach program to ultimately work with our employees to garner trust and understanding as we set and audit applicable standards for safe work in our facility.

    In addition, the Safety Coach works to establish a standard for the various jobs within a value stream.

    Once the standard is established, the Safety Coach works to provide guidance to employees on how to best perform to standard with regard to safety.


    This is a 2nd shift position.
    4 x 10 shifts – Start time 3:30 p.m. End Time 1 a.m.; Friday OT when needed . Candidate must be local to the Dubuque area as there is no relocation assistance for this position.


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create, train, audit, and coach to standard; using standardized safety training documents.
    • Support & sustain safety initiatives at the Tier 1 Level, helping to drive engagement which will help lead to a world class safety culture.
    • Set applicable standards for safe work
    • Establish & maintain standards using the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's)
    • Assist in incident/near-miss investigations, Provide new/transferred employees with knowledge regarding safe work practices on their line. Additional duties include but not limited to, documentation, additional tier management communication, follow up, sustaining safety programs.
    • Assist employees in the recognition and elimination of abnormal variance in established work related processes that may contribute to work related injuries.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
    _


    • Education/Experience:
    High school diploma or equivalent and 4+ years manufacturing experience

    • Language Skills:
    Ability to read, interpret, and apply information contained in standard work documents. Effective writing and verbal skills to summarize audit findings.

    • Strong knowledge of safety policies, processes, procedures, and all safety training documents.
    • Proficient at giving and receiving feedback
    • Proficient with Word, Excel & PowerPoint
    • Resiliency/Competency in regards to understanding that the basic task of this position is to repetitively model the preferred behavior of working to standard to others who may not immediately comply.
    • Basic understanding of ergonomics
    • Experience leading teams
    • Experience conducting training and conducting Tell, Show, Do, Review

    _In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate.

    Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
