    Description
    Rural Health Group, a thriving FQHC located in scenic northeastern North Carolina, is seeking a BC (BE if newer graduate) OB/GYN to provide excellent quality women's health care at our RHG Family and Women's Health location in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Position includes outpatient clinic, surgery, and hospital call.
    OB/GYN details:
    • Our OBs need privileges at ECU Health North Hospital (f/k/a Halifax Regional Medical Center) in Roanoke Rapids:
    • Our office (1381 Medical Center Drive) is right next to the hospital:
    • We are a separate organization from the hospital - our OB/GYNs have privileges and call there, but it is not a hospital practice. We are 501(c)3 private corporation with a patient-majority board of directors and designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center.
    • OB/GYNs have one day per week surgery, the rest in outpatient clinic, with 4 hours of designated administrative time per week patients per provider per day in the outpatient clinic.
    • The mix of patients (OB vs GYN) fluctuates based on demand/referrals. As of Jan 2020, we have 112 active pregnancies; at one point in 2018, we had 165. Deliveries are approximately 25/month for the group. GYN procedures vary based on referrals - we accept patients from internal and external providers. Clinic days are allocated for GYN. Procedure appointments are minutes.
    • This is a rural, underserved community so there are a number of high risk patients for both OB and GYN
    • Call will most likely be 1:2 weekdays (8a Mon - 5p Fri) and 1:3 weekends (5p Fri - 8a Mon) - we have a contracted OB/GYN who covers one weekend per month. We are hoping to extend the call to 1:3 weekdays and 1:4 weekends, but that may or may not happen.
    • Staff: RNs/LPNs in the office, RN Case Manager, sonographer, RN Clinical Practice Manager and also an operations Practice Manager, front desk staff, billing staff
    • Board certification (or board-eligible if resident) and BLS required; ACLS and NRP preferred
    • We do not have DaVinci
    • Rural Health Group uses eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR, the hospital uses Meditech (experience with one or both is a plus, but not required)

    RHG is centrally located on I-95, 80 miles north of Raleigh and the Research Triangle as well as 80 miles south of Richmond. Residents enjoy moderate year-round climate with lots of sunshine. The Roanoke Valley, a community of over 56,000 located just south of the Virginia border, is an outdoor paradise with hiking, hunting, fishing, mountain biking and boating.

    • 15 FM/IM primary care offices, OB/GYN office, Pediatrics office, and School Based Health Center Program
      [Outpatient only FM/IM; OB/GYN & PEDS have hospital privileges and call]

    • 3 in-house pharmacies, 340b pharmacy program
    • Integrated Behavioral Health [Psychologists and LCSWs]
