- Participate in CDL training.
- Operate a variety of motorized equipment.
- Operate a variety of standard power tools and equipment used for grounds and building maintenance and repair.
- Operate small equipment, such as a skid loader and forklift.
- Perform manual labor.
- Drive large trucks, snow plows, and small- to medium-sized equipment.
- Perform custodial tasks in the general housekeeping of the facility, including sweeping and, cleaning floors.
- Maintain appearance of facility grounds by clearing debris and sweeping curbs/walkways.
- Maintain work unit files and records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Ability to learn safety standards and precautions pertaining to the use and operation of motorized equipment and hand and power tools.
- Ability to learn how to operate motorized equipment, skid loaders, lift trucks, and hand/power tools in a safe and effective manner.
- Ability to use various hand tools, including hammer, shovel, spade, saw, grinder, sander, grease gun, and wrench.
- Ability to use a computer.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Safe driving skills and ability to learn how to operate a single or tandem dump trucks.
- Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other employees.
- Regularly required to talk and listen.
- Must be able to feel attributes of objects, grasp, push, stand, walk, drive, reach with hands/arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb/balance, operate mechanical equipment, and move up and down from/to sitting position on the floor.
- Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement.
- Must have clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Must be able to lift 100 or more pounds.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to successfully complete CDL training and obtain CDL license within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOT medical certification.
