    JOB TITLE: Behavioral Health Clinician I/II - Children's

    Are you passionate about making a positive impact? If so, we invite you to join our dedicated team at the Department of Health & Human Services. Our Children's Behavioral Health division offers a wide range of programs aimed at supporting youth and families across Humboldt County.

    These programs cater to foster youth, incarcerated youth, children aged 0-5, and Transition Age Youth (TAY). Clinicians in this role have the opportunity to work in diverse settings and programs, with the flexibility to travel throughout the county to deliver services.


    WHAT YOU'LL DO:
    • Provide behavioral health services to a caseload of youth and families.
    • Collaborate with local community organizations, tribes, and schools as needed to deliver behavioral health services.
    • Ensure timely and accurate documentation and billing for services provided.

    WHERE YOU'LL WORK:

    This position is based in Eureka, California.

    A typical work schedule for this role is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with the possibility of alternative schedules approved on a case-by-case basis.


    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Possession of a valid California license or registration number required.
    • Continuous recruitment process with the flexibility to close recruitment at any time.

    SUPERVISION AND CHARACTERISTICS:

    Receive direction based on level - I or II - with no direct staff supervision.


    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
    • Evaluate patients across various settings.
    • Respond to crisis situations and provide necessary support services.
    • Collaborate with community agencies to assess healthcare needs.
    • Provide therapy and case management services to clients.
    • Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment teams and case conferences.
    • Ensure accurate patient record documentation and maintain caseload records.
    • And other related duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Knowledge of behavioral health programs and relevant laws.
    • Proficiency in clinical casework and crisis intervention.
    • Ability to provide therapeutic services and client care.
    • Understanding of patient rights and confidentiality laws.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Master's degree in psychology, social work, or related field, and professional counseling experience required based on the level - I or II.


    LICENSURE:
    • Specific licenses required depending on the level - I or II.
    • Possession of a valid US driver's license may be required for certain positions.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    • Mobility for different work environments and ability to operate standard office equipment.
    • Visual acuity and auditory skills for effective communication.
    • Finger dexterity for data entry and equipment operation.

    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
    • Work in specified environments with varying noise levels and temperature conditions.
    • Interaction with clients requiring crisis intervention.
    • Exposure to blood and body fluids may occur in job duties.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Willingness to work flexible hours and undergo pre-employment screenings.
