    Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional for a Vice President of Financial Reporting position we are working on with a local Financial Services organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, and financial reporting for publicly traded companies. As the VP of Financial Reporting, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Financial Reporting Leadership: Lead and oversee the financial reporting team responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial statements and related disclosures for the company and its subsidiaries. Ensure adherence to accounting principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with evolving accounting and financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and ensure the company's financial statements are compliant with all relevant regulations, including SEC reporting requirements.
    • Historical Financial Statements: Demonstrate expertise in historical financial statements analysis and reporting, utilizing past financial performance data to identify trends, insights, and areas of improvement.
    • External Reporting: Manage the preparation and submission of all external financial reports, including quarterly and annual filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
    • Investor Relations Support: Collaborate with the Investor Relations team to provide accurate and timely financial information to shareholders, analysts, and other stakeholders.
    • Technical Accounting: Research and address complex accounting issues, transactions, and new accounting standards. Provide recommendations and ensure proper implementation of accounting policies.
    • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, variance analysis, and financial performance assessments to support executive decision-making and provide valuable insights to the management team.
    • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the financial reporting team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
    • CPA Certification: Must hold an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
    • Financial Services Experience: Extensive experience in financial services, preferably in a publicly traded company or a financial institution.
    • Financial Reporting for Publicly Traded Companies: Proven experience in overseeing financial reporting for publicly traded companies, including SEC reporting requirements.
    • Expertise in Historical Financial Statements: Demonstrated expertise in historical financial statements analysis and reporting.
    • Technical Skills: Strong technical accounting skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and standards (GAAP, IFRS).
    • Leadership and Management: Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
    • Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities to interpret financial data and provide valuable insights to support decision-making.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
    • Integrity and Compliance: High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
