Software Engineer - Huntington, United States - Mountain Health Network, Inc.
Description
The Software Engineer designs and develops applications for improving the productivity and efficiency of Mountain Health Network operations.Software Engineers use an analytical, engineering-focused approach and expert knowledge of programming languages to develop computer programs and ensure software is as functional and robust as the client or consumer needs.
They work under the direction of the Software Architect, developing software programs or systems that align with user needs.Their duties include meeting with clients or business professionals to strategize ideas for beneficial software, coordinating with other IT professionals to design software and running tests to catch coding errors.
This role is integral to business continuity and core business system operations.Reporting to the Director of Data Analytics, this role is responsible for development and integration of enterprise-wide information systems that support Mountain Health Network's core mission.
RequirementsEducation:
Associate's degree or equivalent experience required
Experience
3+ Years of Position-Related Experience
The
kind
of position-related experience includes:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science is preferred
Experience developing moderate to large-scale software projects in technologically-driven work environments is required
Experience with data modeling and database design is required
Understanding of software development methodologies and structured approaches to system development is required
Leadership qualities, including the ability to facilitate technical discussions with diverse and cross-functioning groups, time management, organizational, and negotiation skills
Demonstrated success in working effectively with project management, cross-functional teams, and senior management
Logical thinking abilities, problem solving, communication skills, interpersonal skills and math skills are required
Knowledge of software architectural styles and design patterns is required
Understanding of various coding methods and computer languages is required
Experience with ambulatory software or other core clinical information systems is preferred
