- Conducting one-on-one tutoring sessions to assist students with coursework, assignments, and projects in computer information systems
- Leading small group study sessions to promote collaborative learning and problem-solving
- Demonstrating a solid understanding of computer information systems concepts, programming languages, software applications, and related subjects
- Staying updated with course materials and effectively communicating updates to students
- Developing and revising tutoring materials like study guides, practice exercises, and reference documents
- Suggesting and contributing to additional learning resources for student success
- Providing constructive feedback to help students enhance their understanding and performance
- Evaluating student progress and adjusting tutoring methods accordingly
- Maintaining regular availability for tutoring sessions
- Collaborating with Student Services to schedule and promote tutoring efficiently
- Current enrollment at California Institute of Applied Technology with eligibility for Federal Work Study
- Good academic standing, including a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and 80% attendance
- Strong Technical Knowledge: proficient in programming languages like Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, etc., and familiar with software development frameworks and libraries
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Patience and a genuine desire to help others succeed academically
- Prior tutoring experience preferred
