    Overview:

    Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for an entry-level Civil/Site Design Engineer to join our team in the New York, NY office

    Our team of Civil/Site professionals regard you as a strategic partner. Whether facilitating a large retail complex, residential development or planning a small stand-alone establishment in a downtown business district, we embrace your vision while guiding you through the development process.     Responsibilities:
    • Perform engineering calculations and create estimates
    • Develop drawings by modifying or replicating a prior project, applying changes and corrections from redlined drawings, and/or creating drawings from sketches of others or from own design
    • Ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards
    • Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
    • Interpret and understand drawings from multiple disciplines for specific projects and respond to requests for information regarding same
    • Conduct field inspections and surveys, investigate variables, obtain measurements, photographs, videos, and take notes; write reports documenting same
    • Research and apply code provisions to design
    • Work with senior engineers to create project designs
    • Create models, including 3D models
    • Research design options and document findings for project engineer/manager
    • Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures, using own judgement to make adaptations and modifications to existing designs
    • Assist Project Engineers and leaders as needed in the creation of proposals, client information, and designs
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
    • 0-2 years of experience required
    • EIT candidates preferred
    • Interest in Civil/Site Engineering projects; prior experience preferred but not required
    • Strong CAD skills, including AutoCAD, HydroCAD, and WaterCAD
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Proficiency in Civil3D
    • Land Development project experience
