Job description
The Community Relations Associate is responsible for providing a full range of project-based, administrative and clerical support to the department and Sr. Director of Community Relations.
**The term of this associate position is twelve (12) months. The Steelers may elect to extend the term of the associate position for a second year or promote to a full-time position.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages donation fulfillment system, including reviewing donation requests and mailing donations or preparing donations for pickup
- Provides administrative support to the Community Relations team
- Prepare departmental meeting documents
- Coordinates and schedules community groups for Steelers training camp
- Oversee autograph signings and inventory throughout the year
- Fields phone calls as related to Community Relations
- Sorts incoming department mail and distributes to proper recipients
- Fields military requests received by the Community Relations department
- Assists with game day operations during the season as needed
- Assists with community events and player engagement during events
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Duties:
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends and game days, as needed
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Must be able to handle (lift, pull, push) boxes and distribution items
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time on game day, training camp and events
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions for game day and events as needed
Skills and Experience:
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends
- Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products and general website management
- Strong communicator and skill in public speaking
- Community relations, public relations, marketing or project/event management experience necessary
