    Packer - 3rd Shift

    10:00pm - 6:30am

    $ /hr + Shift Differential

    Ideal candidate will have several years experience driving fork trucks in narrow conditions.

    Reporting to the Production Supervisor of Molding Products, the Packer, aka the Material Handler of the SMC lines,

    manages the material handling activities in the scale, shrink‐wrap, SMC machines, and Maturation areas that contribute to smooth and efficient processing of a SMC material. The Packer weighs the containers, partakes in the labeling of the containers, shrink wraps, and transports containers to and from the SMC machines.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):

    1. Interacts with the Production Supervisor and SMC crews supporting SMC production providing and removing containers, totes or boxes, partaking in the weighing, labeling, recording of finished goods and transporting the material to the Maturation Room.

    2. Transfer containers and product, weigh containers and product, while accurately recording SMC material packaged.

    3. Record and label gross, tare, and net weights on the label of SMC containers.

    4. Shrink‐wrap the SMC boxes and transfer to Maturation room as required.

    5. Weigh and record the SMC Scrap Boxes.

    6. Keep shrink wrap area clean, neat and orderly.

    7. Provide records and reports as required by the Quality Management System.

    8. Keep the Production Supervisor informed of any issues that prevent achievement of the above goals.

    9. Responsible for handling and record keeping of Hazardous Waste.

    10. Empty waste bins and containers at end of shift or as directed.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

    • High school diploma (GED) or equivalent.
    • 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing plant environment preferred.
    • Good verbal skills with an eye for detail.
    • Multi‐task oriented, flexible, safety, quality, and customer committed.
    • Ability to work independently while a team player complimenting individual and team objectives.
    • Ability to drive Forklift.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and handle full 55-gallon drums.
    • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
    • Certified and prepared to wear respirator if and when directed.
