    International Tax Counsel/Senior Manager Job Description

    At Amazon.com Services LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled International Tax Counsel/Senior Manager to join our team at our Seattle or Virginia Headquarters. This individual will play a critical role in U.S. international tax planning and documentation for new initiatives and ongoing business launches.

    The ideal candidate will possess the ability to think strategically while engaging in day-to-day tactical details. They must have a proven track record of identifying and managing tax and execution risks. The candidate should have in-depth tax technical knowledge with experience evaluating and advising on international business initiatives, contemplated transactions, and business proposals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead cross-functional teams
    • Develop and implement international tax strategies
    • Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders

    The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality tax-related projects, collaborating with business partner contacts, and ensuring the appropriate level of documentation is created and maintained to support analyses performed, decisions made, and conclusions reached for purposes of reporting and compliance.

    Requirements:

    • 12+ years of tax, finance, or related analytical field experience
    • Experience in taxation in a corporate environment, public accounting firm, or major law firm
    • Experience managing other employees and leading international tax teams

    Preferred qualifications include experience working effectively across cross-functional teams, partnering well with people at all levels within an organization, and coaching junior staff. Experience with accounting concepts, tax regulations, laws, and standards is also desirable.
