- Test, inspect and service portable fire extinguishers using hand tools, hydrostatic test equipment and monitoring devices in accordance with NFPA, local and state codes
- Inspect, service and repair emergency exit lighting systems at customer locations
- Complete inspection reports online
- Hydro-test high pressure cylinders as needed
- Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents and expelling means; replace worn or damaged parts
- Clean extinguishers and recharge them with approved materials
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificates, licenses and registrations required: MA Certificate of Competency 46 – license for portable fire extinguishers
- Knowledge of NFPA codes a plus
- Hydrostatic certificate preferred
- Must maintain a valid drivers license and clean driving record
- OSHA 10 card
