Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a nightshift Labor and Postpartum position in a rural Texas hospital, requiring current TX or compact license and strong assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) within a rural setting
• Covers Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum, Nursery, and Obstetrics Nursing roles
• Shift is nights for a 14-week assignment
• Level I Maternal and Neonatal Care department averaging 15-20 deliveries per month
• Department typically staffed with two nurses skilled across L&D, postpartum, and nursery
• Uses OBIX EMR system
• Serves a patient population that includes a significant number of transient patients
• Responsibilities include cross-coverage for L&D, postpartum, and nursery roles as needed
• Travelers with RVs tend to find the best local housing options
• No COVID vaccine required for consideration
• Department provides care in a small team environment supporting a wide range of maternal-child health needs

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or Compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, NRP, ATT
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) experience and strong assessment skills required
• Experience in rural healthcare settings highly preferred
