Job Description

The ideal candidate will conduct laboratory synthesis and experimentation to troubleshoot plant upsets, improve existing processes, and develop new products. This role requires a strong background in chemical synthesis, particularly with polymers.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES.

Ø Plan and set up laboratory equipment for experiments and evaluations.

Ø Conduct literature research using tools such as SciFinder, STN, USPTO, and Espacenet.

Ø Perform laboratory experiments and evaluations safely and effectively.

Ø Analyze experimental data and provide recommendations and conclusions based on the analysis.

Ø Document experimental work and results and prepare technical reports as directed.

Ø Develop new pathways of synthesis for existing or new products.

Ø Develop new products for new applications.

Ø Identify and characterize anomalies causing off-spec production and deviations from statistical control.

Ø Interpret analytical results for management.

Ø Define the physical, chemical, and specifications properties for new raw materials.

Ø Report laboratory activities and project status.

Ø Understand and interpret analytical data from GC, HPLC, GPC, FT-IR, UV-Vis, TGA, DSC, AA, NMR.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

v Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (Organic Chemistry) is required.

v Previous experience in a Synthesis Laboratory is required.

v PhD in Chemistry (Organic Chemistry) is desirable.
