- Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) in an acute hospital setting
- Cares for high-acuity medical and surgical patients including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications
- Average patient load of 3 high-acuity patients
- Proficiency required with advanced hemodynamics including pressor titration, antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombolytics, A-line, CVP, EVD, orthopedic traction, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and infection prevention protocols
- Epic EMR experience required
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Rotating holiday coverage required
- 13-week contract
- Nurses with large-scale adult PCU experience or community hospital ICU experience are well-suited for this role
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Competency testing must be completed within 24 hours of consideration — ensure an up-to-date email address is on file
- Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
- Any RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
- No blocked scheduling
- Travel pairs are not permitted for this position
- Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
- Active US SSN required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
- AHA or RQI certifications required, including BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or ICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Flu vaccine required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal or religious declinations will not be accepted
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
