- Planning, organizing and overseeing daily clinical and administrative operations for the ED.
- Assisting with planning and instituting operational improvements in the ED.
- Preparing staff schedules, performing payroll tasks, requesting and allocating resources.
- Facilitating coordination of care/services to meet patient care and operation requirements.
- Developing, recommending and applying internal standards, policies and procedures to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care.
- Assisting with selecting, supervising and evaluating nursing and clinical support personnel.
- Creating and implementing staff education/development programs.
- Leading and participating in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees and special projects.
- 30hrs overnights; preferably hour shifts (but can be flexible) and participate in on-call
- A Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Completed, enrolled or plan to enroll into a Master's program within the next year preferred.
- Five+ years of nursing experience, including pediatric ED experience. (BCH ED experience strongly preferred).
- Managerial/supervisory experience, preferred.
- The analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experienced-based knowledge.
- Strong communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well-developed writing skills.
