    We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Big Data Infrastructure teamWhat youll do:
    Architect, build and optimize Snaps batch and real-time data processing infrastructure and platform for a wide range of use cases, including ML, ETL, reporting, and analyticsCollaborate across teams to design and enhance some of Snaps most critical data applicationsAct as a developer advocate and educator, promoting the adoption of big data best practices among Snap teamsHelp in defining and building Snaps DataLake solution to ensure it's efficient, compliant, and user-friendlyKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:In-depth experience building and operating data systems at scale, with a focus on big data processing (either batch or streaming)

    Proficiency in Java, C++, and/or Python, with a strong coding background in building robust and scalable systemsProven ability to independently execute on medium to large-sized features, spanning multiple weeks and PRsStrong understanding of the operational aspects of systems, and the ability to participate in incident or hotfix investigation and resolutionExcellent collaboration and communication skills, enabling effective teamwork across diverse technical teamsFamiliarity with other Big Data technologies, NoSQL solutions, and cloud services (like Kubernetes, Google Cloud, AWS)Minimum Qualifications:
    BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent years of experience11+ years of software development experienceSpecialization in building backend services and distributed systemsFamiliarity with Apache Spark/Flink/Iceberg, Google Dataflow/Beam, or other pertinent big data technologies

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience building Flink/Spark/big data platform that serves enterprise use cases.

    Expertise in building and optimizing large-scale big data applicationsHands-on experience deploying Spark/Flink on platforms like Kubernetes, ideally in a cloud settingSpecialization in building and operating Datalake/Lakehouse at scaleFamiliar with MLOps/platforms with a large data footprint, such as training/feature dataExpertise in areas such as large-scale microservices, cloud computing, infrastructure design, networking, and data storage'Default Together' Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc.

    The successful candidates starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
    Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):The base salary range for this position is $222,000-$333,000 annually

    Zone B:
    The base salary range for this position is $211,000-$316,000 annually

    Zone C:
    The base salary range for this position is $189,000-$283,000 annually.
