    About the Position:
    Serves as the Range Operations Supervisor, responsible for military training support at a multi-mission installation. Responsibilities Prepares, staffs and submits decision and information papers.

    Writes, staffs and publishes the local range schedule and bulletin and develops a variety of correspondence, staff studies, decision papers and similar materials.

    Evaluates installation policies and programs for content and applicability and for compliance with regulations, guidance and sound training complex procedures.

    Contacts, meets with, briefs, and coordinates with people from outside the agency and installation and from other Department of Army (DA) and Department of Defense (DoD) major commands and services.

    Develops, implements and enforces safety control procedures and facility use and scheduling requirements for day and night live-fire and non-live fire training.

    Serves as the USARAK expert for live fire and training complex safety and the successful merging of safety and training.

    Develops plans, policies and procedures, and serves as the installation authority on live fire training, range utilization, range safety, with the authority to resolve conflicts and coordinate actions.

    Develops organizational structure to include staffing, equipment requirements, internal alignments, and delegation of authority. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.

    One year of specialized experience which includes work such as managing the development and operation of range live fire safety programs AND managing a maintenance program in support of maintaining, repairing, and/or modifying a range facility.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

    You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
