    As a Project Engineer in our dynamic aerospace division, you will leverage your engineering expertise to lead and innovate in the design and development of cutting-edge aerospace products and systems. You'll play a crucial role in transforming customer needs into high-quality, safe, and cost-effective solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Utilize your technical acumen to develop complex design concepts, from initial sketches to 3D CAD models.
    • Conduct comprehensive engineering research to create groundbreaking products that align with performance and cost criteria.
    • Design, fabricate, and rigorously test prototype designs; develop detailed test plans and reports.
    • Produce and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, managing a team of professionals in this endeavor.
    • Proactively evaluate and enhance current design and manufacturing processes for increased efficiency and quality.
    • Effectively plan and manage your project workload, including coordination with external contractors and suppliers.
    • Direct project tasks and schedules, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
    • Engage in continuous improvement of engineering and organizational standards and practices.
    • Act as a technical liaison, fostering strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • Support Sales and Marketing with your technical expertise and contribute to new project proposals.
    • Involved in the entire product lifecycle, from prototype assembly to addressing customer feedback and resolving production issues.
    • Lead in the creation and validation of production and test tooling and fixtures.
    • Contribute to the development of product specifications and participate in risk assessment and mitigation activities.
    • Keep abreast of industry advancements, ensuring our products remain at the forefront of aerospace technology.
    • Mentor junior engineers, promoting a culture of excellence and collaborative engineering.

    Requirements:

    • BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited) or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 6 years' experience in mechanical product development, preferably in aerospace.
    • Professional engineering certification (EIT or PE) is advantageous.
    • Expertise in mechanism design and engineering is a plus.
    • Proven track record in engineering project management and familiarity with aerospace standards.
    • Experience in working with metallic materials and their fabrication and finishing processes.
    • Knowledge of 3D printing (stereolithography) is beneficial.
    • Proficient in 3D CAD/CAE, MS Office; SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM proficiency preferred.
    • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative skills.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
    • Must be able to manage projects efficiently and meet rigorous deadlines.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Regular interaction with team members.
    • Combination of sedentary and active work, including occasional heavy lifting (up to 30+ pounds).
    • Ability to travel, including potential international trips.
