The Perfusionist is responsible for operating extracorporeal circulation equipment during any medical situation where necessary to support or replace a patient's cardiopulmonary, circulatory, or respiratory function.This role ensures the safe management of a patient's physiological and metabolic needs by maintaining adequate oxygenation, blood flow,
and temperature control.
