    The Collection System Maintenance Technician I perform maintenance services, installation or repairs in one or more skill areas such as collection system repair and inspection, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic repairs.

    Inspect, diagnose, and locate difficulties in a wastewater collection system.
    Participate in the installation or repair of wastewater collection systems.
    Perform preventive maintenance functions on wastewater collection system equipment; identify equipment maintenance needs.
    Interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for a variety of wastewater collection systems.
    Perform general utility maintenance activities, routine wastewater collection system repair, and cleaning activities.
    Maintain records on work, time, and material records.
    Operation of hydro-vacuum truck and CCTV inspection vehicle.
    Perform smoke testing activities in the collection system to identify sources of inflow and infiltration.
    Use of leak detection and locating devices, surveying, cleaning, and repairing sewer mains.
    Respond to emergency calls.

    Ability to communicate effectively in writing or orally (operational, process, safety, and quality instructions) and be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.

    Some vocational training and mechanical aptitude preferred, with the ability to read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles and other equipment.

    A minimum wastewater license or the ability to attain a grade 1 Wastewater license as required by regulatory agency at site within 2 years.

    Experience using material handling equipment, pressure gauges and precision measuring instruments.
    Must have ability to operate Computer Maintenance Management System (software).

    Must consistently demonstrate the ability to learn and independently perform assigned duties and meet or exceed production and quality goals.


    Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
    Ability to attain a commercial driver license CDL.
