Monday-Friday, DAY SHIFT schedule
As the "face of Airgas," the Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting cylinder gases and hard goods to area branches and plant locations using a company-provided semi tractor-trailer.
In addition, Airgas operates a modern and efficient fleet.Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology and GPS navigation.
Drive truck with a capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties:Communicate in person with internal customers, providing information ordering and delivery times, etc.
Maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries.
Accurately maintain records such as Department of Transportation Driver's Log and vehicle logs according to state and federal regulations.
Pick up empty cylinders from branch locations and returns them to the plant for refilling following all federal, state, and local regulations.
Operate a forklift, pallet jack or other warehouse equipment in order to load and unload trucks following all company policies and procedures.
Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections, document deficiencies and all equipment is in safe and good working order.
Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.Comply with all company policies and meets DOT requirements.
Assist inside the retail branch, servicing customers at dock, front counter and over the phone.
Pick up empty cylinders from branch locations and return them to the plant for refilling following all federal, state, and local regulations.
Airgas helps its drivers and the public share the roads safely so people and our product all arrive safe and sound.
Airgas follows the FMCSA requirement for all motor carrier employers to run full queries of the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse database for any violations during the pre-employment process for all new CDL Driver Hires to ensure they are not prohibited from performing safety-sensitive functions.
All new CDL Driver Hires must register for the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and allow Airgas consent to review their Clearinghouse record.
________________________Valid NM Class A CDL with Hazmat and Air Brake endorsements.
At least one full year of experience driving a Class A Tractor Trailer under DOT requirements.
Current Medical Examiner's Card.
Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
Must be able to obtain a forklift operator certification
Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary.
