    Description

    The Department of Psychology at Calvin University invites applications for a tenure track, open-rank faculty position (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) in Neuroscience, Neuropsychology, or Clinical Psychology, beginning August 2024.

    The university seeks applicants with vibrant Christian faith who are dedicated to integration of that faith with their field of study.

    Qualified applicants must have a Ph.D. in neuroscience / neuropsychology, or clinical psychology from an accredited university (or expected completion of Ph.D. by July 2024), a record of excellence in teaching, and evidence of productive scholarship, commensurate with rank. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach neuropsychology, neuroscience, physiological psychology, health psychology and/or clinical courses.

    The university will prioritize candidates with broad interdisciplinary interests, demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ability to integrate questions of meaning, significance, and ethics into all course content, and deep commitment to engaging students beyond the classroom.

    FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Faculty members typically teach 24 semester hours (typically 6 courses) per academic year. Faculty are expected to grow in Reformed Christian commitment, to pursue an active research program agenda, to teach effectively, and to serve the university, department, students, and the wider community. Candidates will be asked to affirm their commitment to the educational mission of Calvin University as a Christian liberal arts university in the Reformed tradition, affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church.     The Department of Psychology offers BA and BS degrees in Psychology as well as a Psychology (Neuroscience Concentration) BS degree.
