    Overview The Security Specialist II shall be a subject matter expert executing or assisting others who are performing directorate physical security (PHYSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC) functions in order to ensure compliance with DoD policies, procedures, and standards that are supplemental to and consonant with U.

    Army Test & Evaluation Command (ATEC) and higher organizational echelons policies, procedures, and requirements

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Primary PHYSEC and INFOSEC liaison to Center Support Directorate, Security Division (S-2/CSO) for directorate security matters.
    • Responsible for supervising three division level security specialists that are responsible for controlling access to active live fire ranges
    PHYSEC functions and tasks include but are not limited to:


    • Perform random physical security checks of all divisions within the directorate ensuring they are in compliance with PHYSEC standards.
    • Maintain a comprehensive, accurate accounting of directorate classified information security containers, and manage combination changes.
    • Ensure the divisions maintain a comprehensive, accurate accounting of directorate bolt cutters.
    • Execute instructions and procedures primarily oriented to prevent security violations; and if violations are discovered, report them appropriately and in a timely manner.
    • Ensure range security specialists greet visitors professionally and politely, determine if they and their organizations have fulfilled the government customer's requirements to enable the visits, obtain accepted forms of their identification, issue visitor badges, and coordinate their rendezvous with their sponsors or escorts.
    • Fill-in for range security specialist as needed.
    • Assist sponsors in digitally submitting documentation to enable future visits.
    • Enable and disable employees' and visitors' physical access to controlled areas and facilities through electronic security systems (ESSs) that control gates and doors.
    • Administer the key control program.
    • Exercise swift judgment, discretion, and action in incidents and emergencies.
    • Develop, adjust, modify and execute Random Anti-terrorism Measures (RAMs).
    • Assist in physical security and risk vulnerability inspections.
    • Assist in evaluating local security policies, procedures, practices, and standards for adequacy in meeting requirements and mitigating risks; make corresponding recommendations and reports to the government customer.
    INFOSEC functions and tasks include but are not limited to:


    • Directorate liaison to Test Center's Information Management/Technology Division (S-6/CSI)) for classified network matters supporting distributed testing and classified data storage.
    • Understand Security Classification Guides (SCGs) for test programs and, as necessary, seek clarification in order to ensure the directorate is in compliance.
    • Coordinate and monitor directorate's proper handling of classified information or material.
    • Advise and assist other directorate employees in information classification, changes in classification levels, declassification, marking, and handling.
    • Maintain classified information write logs; submit timely Data Transfer Agent logs.
    • Advise and assist other directorate employees about classified data collection during Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and during execution of test and evaluation projects.
    • Audit Secret documentation management (e.g., proper labeling, storage, etc.)
    • Train and assist other employees who have collateral responsibilities for security functions or tasks.
    • Conduct directorate security inspections, evaluate against established standards, policies and procedures, and provide recommendations.
    • Participate in directorate Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) and ATEC or higher organizational echelons inspections.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must have completed HS/GED.
    • Shall have ten (10) years' experience directly related to industrial, information, physical and operational security.
    • Shall have experience with DOD security publications and regulations and have experience in drafting policies and procedure from Government security regulations, for application at the organization level.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE:
    DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain at least a Secret clearance.

    POSITION TYPE:
    Full-time position, requiring a 40-hour work week
    Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
