    We are seeking a Full Time Exercise Specialist to join our outpatient cardiac and pulmonary rehab team As an Exercise Specialist, you will work closely with the Exercise Physiologist to design, implement, supervise and evaluate outcomes of exercise therapy given to rehabilitating patients to restore proper physical functioning and facilitate independence per the standards, policies, and practices of Samaritan Healthcare.

    The Exercise Specialist will collaborate with the cardiac rehab team in providing exercise guidance, individualized exercise prescriptions, and risk factor education for patients in our Phase 2 and Phase 3 programs.


    Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Collaboratively develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate exercise programs for patients.
    • Provides education/counseling on cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, risk factors, and home exercise.
    • Performs exercise testing.
    • Proficient at taking resting and exercising blood pressures and basic rhythm interpretation.
    • Leads strength training exercises.
    • Stays current with new exercises, techniques/developments, and equipment through continuing education, conferences/seminars, professional societies, and journals.
    • CPR certification - Healthcare Provider (HCP) level required with ACLS certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
    This is a Part-time position, Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm.
