    Description

    Summary



    The position is located in the Naytahwaush IHS Clinic Business Office (BO), located in Naytahwaush, MN. The incumbent provides registration and eligibility services which are the key point of interaction with patients to obtain and process demographic and insurance information for Alternate Resources, Purchased/Referred Care (PRC), and private/commercial insurance. The position will also perform scheduling duties.



    Duties

    • Interviews outpatients to obtain pertinent current patient registration demographic information and enters/maintains in RPMS Patient Registration system.
    • Obtains, verifies, and sequences insurance information for billing and maximum reimbursement from all alternate resources.
    • Determines eligibility status of patients according to IHS policy/guidelines
    • Maintains confidentiality of medical record information in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and IHS policies and procedures.
