- Conducting annual safety inspections
- Developing and implementing comprehensive safety and health planning documents

Duties
Major Duties Include:
Physical Demands: Inspections and investigations require physical exertion like walking, hiking, crouching, climbing, stooping, and crawling under buildings and in attics. Occasional rides in aircraft, helicopters, and small watercraft. Personal protective equipment is necessary due to hazardous environments. Job stress may arise from relationships and conflicts. Frequent travel away from office is expected.
Working Conditions: Exposure to machines, hazardous materials, high noise levels, hazardous gases, dust, and other occupational environments. Protective gear is essential. Fieldwork in rough terrains and varying weather conditions. Work may involve high electrical energy, heights, and emergency operations in adverse terrains and climates.
Requirements
Qualifications
Individuals with General Schedule positions within the previous 52 weeks must meet time-in-grade requirements. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Credit given for qualifying experience. For military service, DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient.
To qualify for GS-11 grade level, one must have specialized experience or education related to safety or occupational health. Volunteer experience is also considered valuable.
Education
To qualify based on education, submission of transcripts is necessary. If foreign education is used, evaluation by a specialized organization is required.
