    Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
    Job Type: Full time; Consultant (6 months )
    Location: Lenexa, KS 66219
    Schedule: Monday to Friday; Schedule: M-Th** 4 x10 hr days, with rotating Friday (rotating between 3 engineers) Friday Hours are typically 6am-1pm and are mandatory. There is also voluntary OT on certain projects.
    Pay Rate: $45.95 per hour

    Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer

    Job Description: This position entails performing a wide range of engineering tasks aimed at enhancing manufacturing operations. The Manufacturing Engineer will apply engineering principles, techniques, and decision-making tools to drive improvements, reduce costs, and optimize product quality. The role involves assessing the manufacturability of existing products, implementing process changes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Execute Manufacturing Engineering tasks under general supervision, contributing to process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
    • Utilize Design for Manufacturability (DFM) techniques to support Product Engineering in new product development and existing product redesign.
    • Develop routings, labor standards, and update the ERP system to streamline production processes.
    • Draft and revise manufacturing work instructions and acceptance test procedures.
    • Plan manufacturing sequences, document standard work and routing, and optimize production efficiency.
    • Design systems, processes, and equipment to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate product quality and reliability.
    • Develop tools and fixtures for production and acceptance testing.
    • Optimize assembly line layouts for improved productivity and efficiency.
    • Implement complex manufacturing processes with a focus on statistical process control and compliance.
    • Conduct facility layout optimizations to maximize equipment utilization and operator efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards.
    • Identify opportunities for product improvement or cost reduction and implement necessary changes.
    • Conduct tests and measurements to maintain control over production variables and troubleshoot process issues.
    • Analyze manufacturing processes and equipment failures, leading corrective actions as needed.
    • Perform root cause analysis on customer returns and collaborate with Product Engineering on corrective actions.
    • Develop and update Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
    • Apply Lean principles to drive cost control, cost reduction, and inventory optimization.
    • Prepare cost estimates and conduct cost benefit analysis for proposed projects.
    • Stay informed about emerging technologies and their potential impact on the company's competitiveness.
    • Develop tools to support manufacturing processes and address safety concerns.
    • Research and recommend new processes, methods, and equipment for continuous improvement.
    • Design, develop, and optimize station loading and line balancing.
    • Create and maintain a factory staffing plan based on sales demand.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • AutoCAD 2D experience is required.
    • Experience with Fluid Power and Mechanical Systems, and Lean Manufacturing Principles.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data.
    • Strong analytical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
    • Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing is preferred.
    • Familiarity with Siemens NX is advantageous.
    Pay Details: $45.95 per hour
