    We are revamping the Olympic College Foundation Leadership Team. This strategic initiative aims to bring in forward-thinking individuals who will not only manage daily operations but also shape our long-term vision for innovation and growth. In addition to this role there are two more openings, Executive Director, and Program Impact Manager.
    The Olympic College Foundation is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Fund Development Director. Under the general direction of the Executive Director of the Foundation this candidate will provide direct support for specific components of the Foundation's comprehensive giving program (i.e., events and other annual giving activities) to engage and generate donor support, and to build a pipeline of prospects for the Foundation's major and estate planning gifts program. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating the comprehensive annual giving program to support pipeline major/planned gifts fundraising program and overall goals/objectives for philanthropy. Aligning program impact with Olympic College priorities for student success wherever possible. Personally, manage an active portfolio of mid-level donors and corporate donor sponsors. Essential Functions
  • Working in partnership with Committee Chairs, provide direct staff support for committees assigned by the Executive Director, including preparing content materials for deliberation, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Attend Board meetings when requested.
  • Identify specific areas to engage board members in fund development activities.
  • Receive and assist a variety of inquiries from stakeholders by phone, in-person, or via e-mail.
  • Support integrity of Olympic College Foundation shared drive folders for continuity and stewardship of essential operations and program files.
  • Develop and monitor budgets for events, grants, contracts, or other funding requests relevant and specific to position.
  • Collaborate with Program Impact Manager and Foundation Coordinator (Program Specialist 3) staff on transactions related to new and recurring donations.
  • Evaluate unit/program initiatives through comparison with actual performance with budgeted/planned objectives and prior year(s) performance; research and determine causative factors; formulate and recommend continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to Olympic College Foundation policy and procedures prioritizing CRM as primary default database for all Olympic College Foundation donor/volunteer and gift activities.
  • Support timely data imports and exports from other vendor platforms as relevant (e.g., event software, etc.).
  • Routinely curate and document within CRM relevant stakeholders' characteristics data to build donor profiles.
  • Routinely document relevant engagement activity with Olympic College Foundation stakeholders, including key performance metrics data.
  • Provide timely review/input for weekly gift or other reports as requested to support data integrity.
  • Contribute to and develop fluency in awards programs cases for support to include in giving program strategies where relevant.
  • Develop and manage Olympic College Foundation's comprehensive Annual Giving program for acquisition, retention, and upgrade of annual donors, including annual direct mail appeals, fundraising events, employee giving, online giving, integrated planned giving marketing and outside community campaigns.
  • Prepare and analyze reports for appeals, events, campaigns, etc.
  • Creates drafts and coordinates production for fundraising materials.
  • Partners with Executive Director to cultivate donors and is active in outreach and development.
  • Provide support for Olympic College Foundation's participation in Leave 10 Kitsap and other collaborative community initiatives for estate planning.
  • Manage Olympic College Foundation's donor recognition program and related benefits for all donors.
  • Manage Olympic College Foundation's annual stewardship calendar to ensure that stewardship actions, such as thank you calls, special cards/letters, annual impact reports and endowed fund reports, and other recognitions are carried out systematically and thoughtfully.
  • Coordinate intentional special recognition activities and events.
  • Create relevant collateral materials to support program.
  • Curate case data, student, alumni, and donor stories to support Olympic College Foundation communication strategies for fundraising and stewardship.
  • Help develop key messages for program initiatives.
  • Write persuasive engagement, solicitation, and meaningful stewardship materials.
  • Recruit, train, and steward volunteers for ad-hoc committees as needed, such as special events, etc.
  • Serve as a liaison and seek to strengthen relationships with, department leaders, program staff to promote foundation activities and build a culture of philanthropy.
  • Serve as a representative of the Foundation for in-house, on-campus, community, and donor-related activities.
  • Build from the ground up an annual giving program to create needed and valued annual resources for today and create a pipeline for tomorrow's major and planned gifts.
  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations for policy creation and/or updates to support best practices in a comprehensive philanthropy program.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education OR Five years of successful office management and/or senior administrative support experience, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and relate well to diverse populations including students, staff, faculty, and the public.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication, tact, and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and Windows.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Washington State Community and Technical College System.
  • Experience with the SBCTC grants management system program.
  • Experience in representing senior-level executives.
  • This position requires a high degree of confidentiality.
