- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedure.
- Maintain Microsoft Domain environments with monthly patching and update cycles.
- Maintain Red Hat Linux environments with monthly patching and update cycles.
- Maintain VMware environments with monthly patching and update cycles.
- Maintain storage archival schedule and processes IAW mission needs.
- Support the life cycle of hardware and software procurement and deployment.
- Support the writing and review of technical documents related to the deployment and maintenance of systems.
- Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field.
- Equivalent work experience is also acceptable with a High School Diploma.
- 4+ years of systems administration experience.
- Up-to-date SECNAVM compliance required (e.g. Security + or IAT level II equivalence).
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- Must have experience with the following:
- VMWare
- Red Hat Linux
- Microsoft Windows and Server
- Enterprise Storage solutions - NAS/SAN
- Networking concepts/analysis
- A solid understanding of Virtualization Concepts
- Applying security updates via compliance with DISA STIGS and/or IAVMs
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity.
- Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
- System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields.
