    Title:
    Director, Policy and Research

    Reports to:
    Vice President, Government Relations

    The Director, Policy and Research will support the Chamber's public policy functions through in-depth and original research and analysis.

    The Director will use data, research, and other information to develop and inform policy, legislative, and regulatory recommendations, and arguments.

    The successful applicant will be a driven team player who is a critical thinker, analytical, creative, and intellectually curious.
    Conduct data-driven research to inform and support Chamber's public policy efforts.
    Create compelling, persuasive, data-driven materials to support Chamber's public policy positions. Identify and prioritize public policy issues that are important to the Chamber's membership.
    Manage research projects that support and inform the Chamber's policy agenda with limited guidance. Draft research reports and other publications.
    Manage up to two of the Chamber's leadership councils.
    Complete ad hoc requests for research and data support.
    Develop relationships with Chamber members, subject matter and policy experts, and other business associations.
    Perform a small amount of general administrative, programming, and other duties as assigned.

    Ability to make decisions without supervision and understand when to elevate decisions.
    ~ Experience with data analytics software such as Tableau or Microsoft BI.
    ~ Ability to analyze complex public policy proposals and impacts on employers.
    ~ Experience reviewing state legislation and budgets, municipal ordinances, and agency regulations.
    ~ Advanced degree in public policy, data analytics, or similar field strongly preferred.
    ~3 to 7 years of experience in a public policy or analysis role, some of which must involve supporting and conducting public policy research.
    ~ Ability to manage relationships and projects with multiple internal and external constituencies.
    ~ Candidates may be asked to supply a writing sample at the time of an interview.
    **This job requires you to be in the office a minimum of three days a week.
