    Summary:
    Promotes and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment.

    Provides training is safe, effective delivery of patient care that assures compliance with standards outlined in the facility procedure manual as well as regulations set forth by state and federal agencies.


    Primary Responsibilities:
    Supports and delivers all of the company policy and procedures.
    Responsible for direct patient care of assigned patients.
    Provides treatment techniques for assigned patients as prescribed. This includes all aspects of hemodialysis procedures.
    Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the patient's treatment. The information is documented appropriately in the individual patient record.
    Reports any significant information or change in patient condition to charge nurse.
    Educates the patient regarding end stage renal disease, diet, and medications.
    Operates all dialysis equipment.
    Provides minor trouble shooting when necessary.
    Assists in patient care plan meetings.
    Acquires information and knowledge in the latest developments of dialysis technique by participating in scheduled in-service classes.
    Acts as a resource person for other staff members.
    Participates in staff training and orientation and staff meetings as assigned.


    QualificationsSkills / Requirements:
    Graduate of an accredited school if Practical Nursing (LPN or LVN).Current appropriate state licensure.1 year medical surgical experience.
    Successfully completed training course in theory and practice of hemodialysis.
    Must be familiar with all types of dialysis therapy, equipment, and supplies.
    Familiar with all emergency operational procedures.


    Pluses:
    ICU experience preferred.1 year hemodialysis experience preferred
