    Default job background
    Description
    Who We Are

Invitation Homes is a fast-paced evolving publicly traded REIT that is pioneering a new industry with over 80,000 single family rental homes and a market capitalization of over $25 billion.

We are a team of more than 1,400 associates who come from all walks of life. We call different communities "home," but our shared values bind us together. Invitation Homes is a place where possibility lives.

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for creating technology solutions that solve business challenges, deliver measurable business results, and improve the IH associate's digital experience.

Product Managers architect a vision, strategy, and roadmap for creating sustainable, competitive advantage.

They deeply understand their product's landscape, the organization's business model, their product's current performance, and the most critical pain points affecting their business constituents.

They lead technology teams towards building the right solution at the right time while balancing cost, risk, speed, intuition, and future need.

This person will "lead by influence" and will need to demonstrate the ability to collaborate, educate, and persuade colleagues at all levels of the organization.

This role may have direct and/or matrixed management responsibility for team members involved on key initiatives.

    What You'll Do

Work with product leadership to create product roadmaps that align to the approved product strategy
Mentor and manage a team of associate product managers and/or contract resources in all assigned delivery efforts
Establish and constantly foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and senior leadership to ensure clear and direct communication around current and future product efforts
Build and prioritize product backlogs informed by customer research and available analytics, and build consensus among stakeholders to optimize experiences for our customers and create efficiencies for our associates
Partner with the UX/UI team to deliver design artifacts which meet our established standards and goals
Partner with the engineering leads to gain a high-level understanding of the technology integrations that enable the customer- and associate-facing functions across multiple platforms
Serve as the subject matter expert for the systems and operational processes in the IH landscape that may be impacted with each new product development effort
Effectively manage the scope of approved efforts, mitigate delivery risks where possible, and negotiate delivery trade-offs as needed when priorities change
Partner with 3rd party vendors where appropriate to commission, prioritize and manage delivery efforts
Partner with legal, risk, and security teams to ensure compliance-related items meet established standards
Work with data analysts to create and implement success metrics for each new effort, continuously monitor product performance throughout its lifecycle, and be willing to decommission those that no longer provide notable value or support corporate priorities
Keep a pulse on the competitive and vendor landscape and identify opportunities and strategies to drive business results
Participate in solutioning; articulate your ideas through wireframes/sketches and research best-in-class solutions
Drive a cross-functional team to deliver on technology commitments:
Set a 2-3 year vision for your product and inspire teams to build something great
Generate and evangelize a product roadmap for your area of oversight
Constantly prioritize user stories; balance feature development, defects, and tech debt according to business need
Be a champion of continuous improvement and delivery; define the minimum viable product, focus teams on key release milestones, and leverage fast-follow sprints
Enable sprint progress; clarify story details, validate completed stories, and prepare stories for the next sprint
Orchestrate product review sessions; gracefully accept feedback from stakeholders and maintain flexibility as product requirements and priorities evolve
Act as product and technology evangelist and build excitement amongst key stakeholders
Generate release and knowledge base documentation and partner on field training activities
Cooperate with the support team to investigate and resolve product defects
Ensure prompt resolution for technical and business issues
    Other work as assigned

    Who We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience
6+ years of experience in a product management role

Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively
Ability to negotiate without being adversarial
Ability to effectively communicate and partner with executives and senior-level leaders
Ability to lead projects across multiple teams and stakeholders through organization, collaboration, and charisma
Empathy for the customer and associate experiences as an equal footing input to prioritization
Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Excellent teamwork skills; strong ability to motivate engineering teams and foster creativity
