    Full time HOSPICE Biller/Collector in our Reseda officeMust have hospice billing and collections experience.
    Mon-Fri 9am-6pm - Hourly rate depends on experience, range is $20-25/Hour


    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Medical Biller is responsible for the preparation of billing documents for private insurance, Medicare/Medicaid and private pay sources and maintenance of fiscal or related records

    QUALIFICATIONS:


    High school diploma or GED certificateOne year medical clerical experience including coding/medical billing and/or have completed a medical assistant course that includes requirements for medical claimsKnowledgeable about coding systems, billing requirements, specialized medical terminology, computers and billing software.

    Ability to maintain financial records and to prepare reports.

    Have effective writing and communication skillsValid Driver's License and auto insuranceESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Prepares all billing documents utilizing relevant coding systemsProcesses and submits all billing claims i.e.

    Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, private pay billingsMaintains records and prepares reports as requested in a timely mannerResearches patient insurance information and updates billing informationAttends and participates in in-services and staff meetings and continues to acquire knowledge of billing systems, practices and policies.

    Accepts training as neededProtects privacy rights of patients and confidentiality of recordsCompletes all documentation in an accurate and legible mannerComplies with hospice policies and procedures, laws and regulations and standards of practicePerforms other tasks as may be assigned
