    Description
    Performs duties under the supervision of the Pharmacy Operations Manager related to order entry, billing, and filling prescriptions as allowed by state and federal regulations.

    In this position, you will provide coverage for our pharmacies in Yakima, Toppenish and Grandview. Pharmacy hours range from 7:30am - 6:30pm, Monday - Friday only. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

    Essential Functions/Responsibilities/Duties
    • Enters patient data in the system including patient name, insurance, allergies, doctor and diagnosis. Enters the prescription in the system, selecting the brand, product/drug, and appropriate strength to align with the instructions given by the prescribing Provider.
    • Establishes that each patient and prescription meet strict eligibility criteria before processing new prescriptions or refills.
    • Completes third party billing entry and resolves billing issues.
    • Generates prior authorizations and ensures successful completion by medical staff and/or Providers.
    • Fills or dispenses the accurate product and quantity from the pharmacy stock.
    • Processes prescription refills verifying refill availability.
    • Maintains awareness of stock level and enters order for restocking based on defined minimum inventory levels. Verifies quantity and submits order to the Wholesaler.
    • Verifies product orders received with invoice and purchase order. Places a sticker on each item and places on the shelf.
    • Monitors and checks expiration dates on drugs in stock and prepares expired stock for return to Wholesaler. Processes credit invoices associated with the returns.
    • Returns or discards dispensed prescription to stock if they are returned by a pharmacy. Enters information in the system for reverse billing.
    Qualifications
    • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
    • Experience: One year s experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.
    • Professional Licenses/Certificates/Registration: WA Pharmacy Technician Certification. As an alternative, we can substitute a WA Pharmacist Intern license for a Pharmacy Technician Certification, or a WA Pharmacy Assistant License if you are participating in an eligible Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
    • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required or Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate at level 9 on the language proficiency scale to receive bilingual differential pay.
    Drug testing: This position requires testing for controlled substances before employment and will be subject to further testing throughout employment.
