    Department: Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs

    Pay Range:$15-$18/ Hourly

    Job Status: Seasonal – Summer (120 days or less)

    Description:

    The City of Roswell Recreation and Parks Department is seeking Summer Camp Counselors for their Strokes Camp. This position requires the direct supervision of campers age 5-8 and will consist of tennis, art, and swimming activities. Camp counselors set the tone and energy for camp and the participants.

    Requirements:

    Knowledge in both tennis and swimming, along with prior experience working with children. Candidates must have the ability to follow directions, problem solve, be creative, work well without direct supervision and work well with young children. Candidates should also be in good physical condition as activities with campers are moderately physical.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The work requires the ability to exert some physical effort, which may involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials 5-50 pounds in weight. Tasks may require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Work is regularly performed with exposure to outside environmental and weather conditions.
