    Job Summary:As a Medical Radiation Physicist, you will be responsible for overseeing the use of radiation in medical settings, including diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safe and accurate delivery of radiation while adhering to regulatory guidelines and best practices. You will work closely with medical professionals, equipment vendors, and regulatory agencies to maintain quality assurance and optimize patient outcomes.
    Responsibilities:
    • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and safety of radiation therapy and imaging procedures.
    • Equipment Calibration: Calibrate and maintain radiation therapy and imaging equipment to guarantee precise delivery of radiation doses.
    • Dosimetry: Perform patient-specific dose calculations for radiation therapy treatments and monitor radiation doses received during imaging procedures.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with regulatory requirements related to radiation safety and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Training and Education: Provide training and education to healthcare professionals, technologists, and staff on radiation safety protocols and best practices.
    • Radiation Safety: Assess radiation safety procedures, conduct radiation surveys, and implement measures to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
    • Research and Development: Stay abreast of advancements in medical radiation technology and contribute to research projects aimed at improving treatment outcomes and safety.
    • Collaboration: Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and optimize radiation therapy techniques.

    Job Requirements:
    • Master's or Doctoral degree in Medical Physics, Radiological Physics, or a related field.
    • Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) in Therapeutic Radiological Physics or Diagnostic Radiological Physics.
    • Experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in radiation oncology or diagnostic radiology.
    • Strong knowledge of radiation safety principles, radiation biology, and medical imaging techniques.
    • Familiarity with Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT).
    • Proficiency in using radiation therapy planning software and imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, and PET.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and educating staff and patients.
    • Ability to adapt to new technologies and participate in continuing education to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
