- Blends, loads, & applies fertilizer & chemicals accurately, in accordance with manufacturer's requirements & the customer's crop plan
- Responsible for proper calibration of fertilizer & spraying equipment
- Maintains sprayers, spreaders, vehicles, & other equipment; repairs, welds, & paints fertilizer spreaders; repairs trucks; changes oil & greases vehicles/applicators
- Receives materials; may unload train cars or trucks
- Maintains cleanliness of work area, vehicles, & applicators
- Performs inventory checks
- Provide backup for other operations staff as needed
- High School Diploma or GED & minimum of 1 year related experience, OR equivalent combination of education & experience
- Custom applicator's license & CDL
- A valid driver's license & a clean driving record
- Resourceful, self-starter who works well with minimal supervision
- Excellent, effective oral communication skills
- General understanding of basic mathematics & ability to perform these operations using unites of weight measurement, volume, & distance
- Ability to operate & maintain equipment safely
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions & perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Ability to read maps, follow directions, & run equipment with computer-assisted operations
