The Licensed Practical Nurse LPN provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care under the supervision of a registered nurse advanced practice provider or physician Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan Ensures the health comfort and safety of residents Contributes to the assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed Documents resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care medication behavior activity and dietary Counsels residents family members orresident advocate underthedirectionofaregisterednurseadvancedpracticproviderorphysician onpreventionandtreatmentplansJob description
