    The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects while ensuring customer requirements are met and expectations exceeded.

    The Technical Project Manager provides leadership, assures quality deliverables and makes technically sound recommendations based on industry-accepted best practices and management fundamentals.


    Requirements:



    • A qualified candidate must be proficient in project management best practices and possess an active Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute
    • The project manager must possess excellent verbal, written, and cross-cultural communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a passion for developing others
    • The project manager must have adept knowledge in developing project management artifacts (e.g., plans, schedules, work breakdown structures, etc.)
    • The project manager should be an Agile methodology practitioner and have work-related experience utilizing collaborative tools and project management issue tracking software (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Kanban, etc.)
    • The project manager should have experience leading development teams, be knowledgeable of business management and resource planning, familiar with organizational theory, and proficient effectuating process improvement through the Capability Maturity Model Integration.

    Key Activities/Responsibilities:



    • Develop the project charter, project management plan, baselines, and sub-plans
    • Direct and manage project work; track change requests, work performance data, update and brief project progress, issues, and risks
    • Develop high-level tasks utilizing Agile methodologies; communicate consistently with the product owner and other stakeholders, lead Scrum events, and develop Scrum artifacts
    • Assemble and coordinate project staff in a matrixed organization; work with business analysts and technical writers to ensure adequate definition of the business requirements.
    • Monitor, control, and report the progress of projects; track project deliverables using appropriate tools, update project scope, definition of done requirements, and deliverables
    • Perform integrated change control; approve or reject changes, employ change control tools, develop project management plan updates, and prevent unnecessary project changes
    • Manage project knowledge; evaluate project results and prepare a detailed project summary, incorporate lessons learned activities into meetings, use the information to improve, and share the information so other projects can improve
    • Utilize milestones to align project management and software development life cycle
    • Properly close out projects; ensure scope has been satisfied, gain acceptance from the customer and sponsor, and obtain formal and final acceptance for the project's results

    Education & Experience:



    • Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, or related field
    • 7 years of experience

    Requirement



    • U.S. Citizen

    • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance

    This position is currently remote however, it may be necessary for the candidate to work onsite in Washington, D.C. for specific meetings and events

    Flexible work from home options available.

    Compensation:

    $135, $175,000.00 per year
