    Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) Site Coordinator

    Job Overview :

    The Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) Site Coordinator at the Montana Department of Justice will serve as the central point of contact for the statewide SAKI multidisciplinary team (MDT).The statewide MDT will have core members and will at times include various local community specific program representation.The core SAKI MDT member agencies include:

  • Health Care Providers
  • Prosecution
  • Sexual Violence Response Programs
  • Montana State Crime Lab
  • Mental Health Providers
  • Tribal Health Providers

  • Victim Advocacy Programs
  • Montana Law Enforcement Academy
  • The Site Coordinator, in collaboration with DOJ leadership, has the responsibility of fostering and coordinating communication and activities among the MDT members. The Site Coordinator should lead the SAKI MDT and team to ensure the programs goals and milestones are met. The successful applicant will understand current efforts related to sexual assault response reform both locally and nationally.

    Such knowledge should include awareness of current research, national recommendations, and best practices associated with sexual assault response reform. Site Coordinator must have leadership skills with knowledge of the diverse roles of sexual assault nurse examiners, law enforcement, prosecutors, crime laboratories, and victim advocacy. Site Coordinator must demonstrate the skills and willingness to assist the SAKI MDT members and team with development and implementation of statewide protocols and procedures that direct SAKI case reviews, survivor notifications, and coordination with local agencies. Site Coordinator is responsible for managing, organizing, and tracking grant progress towards goals and objectives, including performance metrics. Other responsibilities include contacting and working with victims of crime, grant coordination, budget tracking, data management, stakeholder engagement, and public outreach.

    This is a grant funded position that will end on September 30, 2026.

    The first review of applicants will be on February 20th, 2024.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, sociology, public administration, social work, or related field.
  • 4 years' experience in program development and victim advocacy.
  • Other combinations of education or experience may be substituted.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree criminal justice, sociology, public administration, social work, or related field.
  • Victim Advocacy training and/or experience with sexual assault advocacy preferred.
  • Demonstrated community coordination and collaboration experience with prior state program development experience preferred.
