    Role Summary

    The Convenience Retail Procurement Advisor plays a crucial role in achieving Procurement's goal of becoming a top-notch procurement organization with leading expertise in category management. The main focus of this position is to develop innovative category strategies that generate significant business value. This involves creating effective implementation plans in collaboration with Business Interface peers and GBS to ensure successful execution within set timelines.

    This Advisor ensures that all category-level activities support safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient business operations. They collaborate closely with stakeholders to formulate strategies that drive supplier innovation, value, and efficiency, ultimately fostering business growth in the rapidly expanding convenience sector. The role encompasses:

    • Assisting the business in supplier agreement negotiations and establishing new supply sources during periods of substantial growth.
    • Managing complex negotiations for merchandise procurement, identifying opportunities across related categories to enhance negotiation and supplier relations.
    • Aiding in offer development to create innovative and unique offerings by tapping into supply base innovation.

    Reporting to the Global Convenience Senior Manager, the main objective of this role is to bridge procurement category strategy, supplier innovation, and procurement value creation to drive Retail Convenience growth strategy across bp, ampm, Thorntons, and TA.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Contribution to demand forecasting and planning, aligning with business strategy and regulatory compliance.
    • Identifying opportunities for demand aggregation and utilizing various buying channels. Ensuring timely and quality contracts to support safe, compliant, and reliable business processes.
    • Supporting financial value targets delivery, including long-term initiatives, budget efficiency, and resource needs.
    • Ensuring commercial, legal, and contractual compliance in procurement transactions. Managing post-award contracts and maintaining supplier relationships effectively.
    • Engaging with enabling functions to meet company objectives, enhance customer satisfaction, and act as the primary contact for suppliers/contract holders.
    • Effective communication to gain support from diverse partners and drive business outcomes. Building strong relationships with key business teams.
    • Promoting business transformation within procurement.

    Essential Qualifications and Experience:
    • Degree in commerce, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.
    • MCIPS/ISM qualification is a plus.
    • Demonstrated performance improvement track record.
    • Proven ability to achieve targets in high-pressure environments.
    • Expertise in procurement category and supplier management.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and open-mindedness.
    • Effective communication and influencing skills.
    • Strong networking abilities to expand useful contacts.
