Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic Production Manager for a leading manufacturing company located in the Western suburbs of Chicago. This role is crucial for spearheading production teams and ensuring the seamless execution of daily, monthly, and quarterly production schedules. The ideal candidate will be responsible for talent acquisition, training, and fostering team development to effectively meet the evolving demands of our growing business.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Conduct interviews, recruit, and facilitate the onboarding process for new personnel.
· Supervise production quotas and schedules to maintain standards and address operational constraints.
· Foster close collaboration with sales and production planning teams to ensure alignment with customer expectations.
· Champion continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.
· Identify and advocate for strategies to implement cost controls and improvements in production methodologies.
· Coordinate with maintenance technicians to manage both scheduled and ad-hoc equipment upkeep.
· Administer timely performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions adhering to company protocols.
· Monitor compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
· Undertake additional delegated duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Exceptional organizational prowess combined with a meticulous attention to detail.
· Proficient time management skills with a demonstrated ability to consistently meet project deadlines.
· Strong aptitude for analytical thinking and problem-solving.
· Willingness to acquaint oneself with processing equipment to optimize operations, troubleshoot issues, and facilitate repairs.
· Demonstrated leadership acumen and supervisory capabilities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or analogous software applications.
Education and Experience:
· A Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
· A minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is requisite.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to sustain prolonged periods of desk work and computer usage.
· Capability to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
