Description

Job Description BAE Carpenter Department is currently seeking a highly skilled, highly motivated carpenter who is looking to join a great team that maintains a Safe, Productive work environment while delivery 100% Satisfaction to our customers.Required Education, Experience, & Skills EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

2+ years industrial or shipyard.
Must be able to obtain Defense Biometric Identification Systems "DBIDS" access card.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions, regarding daily functions, safety rules and regulations, and possible hazardous conditions.
Ability to give instruction to others assigned to assist on projects.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Shipyard carpentry skills.
Utilize safe work practices in accordance with Job Hazard Analysis
Can repair in the field basic problems related to equipment being used.
Effectively communicate and work in a diverse industry/work force
Practice working smart, careful, productive.
Self-motivational and some problem-solving skills.
Shows a willingness and ability to learn and move forward.
Seeking people that are driven to learn all facets of Shipyard Carpentry.
Seeking individuals who possess a good attitude and are willing to learn and work smart.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
Require ability to stand and or walk on hard uneven surfaces for extensive periods of time.
At times work is performed in tight spaces in adverse temperatures.
Must be able to handle working on multiple levels of a vessel requiring up and down ladder wells throughout the workday.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

May be exposed to excessive noise, paint gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions. Proper protective equipment will be provided as necessary.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Ability to comprehend instructions, drawings, and general correspondence.
Comprehensive understanding of ship repair terminology and ship compartment location nomenclature.
Ability to effectively confer job related information to the supervisor and small groups.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, specifications, and NAVSEA standard items.
Experience using hand and power tools safely including but not limited circular, table and reciprocating saws, and hand drill.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals using US customary measurement system

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $74360

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
