Job Description

The Warmline Peer Support Specialist provides support, resource referrals, non-judgmental listening, and shared experiences of hope and recovery to callers in a confidential, consumer-run telephone service.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in in-service programs to improve knowledge and skills
Attend mandatory trainings and certification
Maintain thorough documentation
Conduct Customer Satisfaction Surveys
Follow-up with consumers requesting outreach calls
Attend staffing meetings for the Warmline
Consult with leadership team regularly
Connect individuals in crisis situations to Emergency Stabilization Services
Maintain confidentiality

Requirements:

A working knowledge of Nord Center Policy and Procedures
Sensitivity to different cultures
Ability to work independently and handle confidential material discretely
Interface with other departments within the center

Working Conditions:

Mainly office environment
Prolonged sitting, phone usage, and computer work
Minimal lifting and pushing loads
Close vision ability and excellent language skills

Qualifications:

At least 2 years in recovery with mental illness
Certified as a Peer Specialist
Familiarity with recovery principles and supporting others in emotional situations
High ethical standards and boundaries
Availability to work evenings and weekends
