    Quality Engineer
    Itasca, IL Area
    Fast-track career job opening for a customer-facing Quality Engineer with a 40+ year old complex aerospace machining business.

    In this role you'll have the opportunity to directly interact with the biggest OEM customers out there; General Electric, Siemens, Rolls-Royce, Pratt/Whitney.

    Role is located in Itasca, IL area.
    > World leader in high precision aerospace & turbine machining (cutting edge technologies) Customer facing role that works through the entire lifecycle of development > Business has approx. 200 people across 2 sites in the Chicago area plus another automotive machining business (and other sites in the USA).

    Select Responsibilities

    Pivotal role in our commitment to excellence In this role you'll be creating and refining Inspection Work Instructions, Quality Alerts, and Inspection Plans to minimize scrap, internal nonconformities, and customer complaints.

    You will be tasked with submitting Concessions and Deviations for the acceptance of nonconforming products, as well as engaging in proactive communication with customers regarding inspection methods, specifications, and any necessary clarifications.

    Reporting directly to the Director of Quality, you will be instrumental in executing our quality strategy to deliver exceptional results.

    Provide training inspection gauges and CMM equipment usage

    Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Cold Starts with the development of Control Plans, Process Capability support, Inspection Plans, and statistical analysis.


    Qualifications:

    Select Qualifications:
    Desired Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered)
    Strong understanding of manufacturing quality requirements, including Control Plans, APQP, and PPAP.
    Customer experience a plus but not required. Must have strong communication and desire to communicate with top OEMs.

    Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and customer specifications is essential, as is experience with metrology tools and gages for inspection.

    Familiarity with AS9100D/ISO 9000 Quality Management System requirements is highly desired, along with excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and implement proactive corrective actions.

    Preferred qualifications include strong teamwork and collaboration skills,Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification a plus.
