    Description


    Client is seeking an experienced Business Analytics Manager with 4+ years of relevant P&C industry knowledge, and hands-on Data Visualization skills preferably with Microsoft Power BI.

    This position is hybrid which requires 3 days in the office within NYC or Warren, New Jersey.

    The primary responsibility of this role is to manage, maintain, enhance, and "own the

    proprietary reporting and analytics platform, PEAK.


    This role requires a great degree of collaboration with both the business users & IT to thrive in a very fast-paced agile environment to be able to quickly respond to changing market conditions and growth of the organization.

    We are looking for someone with a passion for "telling the story with data by understanding our business, working with business partners, focusing on "what matters most, analyzing complex data, identifying emerging trends, finding new opportunities and articulate the story clearly to the Management and Business leaders.

    This role is part of the Business Performance and Analytics team that reports to Global Corporate Underwriting Office.

    We are also looking for this individual to create a Centre of Excellence for Business Analytics with an effort to centralize, enhance, and drive analytics and reporting across the organization.

    An ideal candidate for this position should have the following.

    Passionate about data analytics and a problem-solver, open to learn and adopt new tools and technology.


    Ability to work independently with both Business and Technology partners across both North America and International with huge focus on Global expansion.

    A self-starter and out-of-the-box thinker who can manage multiple projects, prioritize the work independently, and drive the outcomes.


    Product development mindset to own the solution end-to-end and work in agile framework maturing the product over time starting with MVP (Minimum Viable Product) to full production.


    Responsibilities:
    Design and deliver Macro analytics reporting solution to "Measure what matter for the Insurance Executives, Underwriters and Business leaders using Enterprise data and full stack of reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL Server, Python, Data Bricks, Collibra)

    Create and promote a Business Analytics COE (Centre of Excellence)

    at the Group level by creating best practices, formalizing design standards, standardizing KPI

    (Key Performance Indicator) definitions and Report certifications in collaboration with Data Governance and IT.


    Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports as well as identify new trends and patterns from the complex data sets.

    Verify data accuracy and integrity when sourcing data from a variety of underlying platforms to drive improved insights and reporting

    Analyze industry data from 3rd party, peers, and other macroeconomic trends to develop enhanced business insights.


    Deliver recurring management reports and ad-hoc requests; this includes utilization of available data from various systems by data extraction, cleansing, and building reports and data models.

    Visualize and develop solutions (dashboards, scorecards, analytic reports) to highlight trends and anomalies in data. Tell the story by contextualizing the reports with automated insights in form of narratives and observations.


    Collaborate with IT and other members of the unit in finding the best reporting solution that is robust, reliable and quick-to-market.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree with focus on Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, MIS, or other related fields of study.


    5+ years of experience, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in Insurance industry and having a good understanding of financials and operational metrics.


    Proficiency in maximizing the power of dashboarding and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), and knowledge of Azure cloud and Data Lake (Data Bricks) is a plus.


    Experience with relational databases, JASON, XML and related tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) for data wrangling and automation is highly preferred.


    Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to synthesize data, identify and highlight trends, assess business impacts, and make recommendations for improvement.

    Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make solid recommendations.


    Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to present information in differing degrees of detail and form depending on the audience.

    Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships and trust with cross-functional teams.

    Solid organizational skills and the ability to work both in a team environment and independently on assignments.

    Operate effectively in a culture that promotes collaboration, execution, humility, thoughtfulness, and leadership.
