Marine Electrician

We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrician to join our team at a shipyard in Florida.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical and electro-mechanical systems maintenance and repair, with a focus on marine electrical systems. They will be responsible for planning layouts, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and control equipment on marine vessels and shipyard buildings.

The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in electrical and electro-mechanical systems maintenance and repair, preferably with two or more years on marine electrical system. They will possess a working knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices involved in the installation, maintenance, repair, and alteration of marine electrical and electro-mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan layouts, install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and control equipment on marine vessels and shipyard buildings.
• Work with other crafts as instructed by supervision.
• Inspect systems and electrical parts to detect hazards, defects, and need for adjustments or repair.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment and circuits using appropriate test equipment.

Requirements:

• Three to five years experience in electrical and electro-mechanical systems maintenance and repair.
• Working knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices involved in the installation, maintenance, repair, and alteration of marine electrical and electro-mechanical systems.

Physical Demands:
This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
