    Overview

    In this role, the UI Developer will be a key contributor to the Department of Veterans Affairs' project focused on the modernization and improvement of the GI Bill claims processing system. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of education claims processing for veterans, service members, and their dependents.

    Essential Roles and Responsibilities
    • Engage fully in the agile development lifecycle, designing, configuring, and testing application and technical architecture components.
    • Perform detailed design tasks, identify and utilize reusable components to enhance application efficiency and maintainability.
    • Develop and debug code in alignment with specified design objectives, focusing on optimizing user interfaces for enhanced user experience across web and mobile platforms.
    • Analyze and address technical needs, ensuring all development meets functional, security, and performance requirements.
    • Proactively identify and fix defects found during testing, adhering to best practices in coding and compliance, including 508 compliance for accessibility.
    Qualifications

    Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    Experience
    • Proficient in Angular 10+ development and integration with RESTful services.
    • Extensive experience in developing web, mobile web applications, and progressive web apps (PWAs).
    • Experience with hybrid web applications (e.g., Phonegap, Ionic) is desirable.
    • Strong skills in TypeScript, CSS/SASS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript.
    Certifications
    • Any relevant certifications in web development or UI/UX design are beneficial.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, agile environments.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
