- Determine specimen acceptability for testing based on established criteria
- Execute routine and complex technical procedures as per departmental SOPs
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to maintain functionality
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and troubleshoot issues
- Test and assess new reagents or controls
- Report test results accurately and promptly for quality patient care
- Perform and document maintenance and quality control procedures
- Replenish testing bench supplies when needed
- Assist in specimen processing when required
- Maintain a safe work environment and use proper protective equipment
- Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent preferred; 1-3 years of experience or willing to train
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Must pass a color vision screening
- Willingness to work overtime or different shifts as needed
